OK. This is just insane. This looks so life-like…. want your own mini-loki?

Check the site, they have many others

Everyone has to buy like 10 of them so they can do that Loki multiples trick, right?

Hot Toys’ Loki figure is now available for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles and it comes with glad tidings (along with a plethora of accessories and changeable parts).

Apartment life: Pt. 2

We have been living here for about three weeks and I think we’re very close to having everything unpacked/ put away/ stored in some location. It’s a nice feeling, I also finished a mass cleaning spree and decided to take some pics of the result:

Yay for kitchen tables and Van Gogh.. he just brightens the eating area so I don’t just have a blank wall to gaze at during breakfast at 6am.

Tried to take this so you wouldn’t see Adam’s laundry corner :P

Living room complete with giant dolphin pillow

Portal 2 poster looks awesome in its frame =)

My workspace… it’s a little cramped, but it’s a nice little cubby

Apartment life: Pt. 1

A little more than week in our new apartment and we’re pretty much all settled in. Unpacking took longer than I thought, this was partially because I left packing until the last minute and forgot to actually label my boxes. Yesterday marked the last window covering hung and this weekend shelves were installed. Soon we will have a kitchen table and I can end my eating breakfast on a Tupperware box… well, as of Saturday evening I’ve been using a sweet coffee table we found in the parking garage by the dumpsters… all she needed was a (very) good cleaning.

Needless to say, I will be very, very happy when everything is in its proper place. I will admit when I moved into student housing, it took me a couple months to actually finish setting my room up as I liked it and knew where everything was. I’m using this as a benchmark so I don’t feel as though I’m terrible at moving.

Having your own apartment is awesome… Ok, yes there are more expenses than student housing, but that’s because there’s only two people living here… not seven. We no longer have a corner full of rice cookers and garbage and who knows what else. It’s quiet and I have only myself (or Adam) to blame for any messes that arise. Overall, awesome.

Thesis Editing and DSLR Distractions

As any student knows, working on big projects that take up a lot of that coveted free time, one will no doubt find more distractions than one could ever imagine… anything to keep you away from finishing up that important thing that’s due tomorrow.

Me, for instance, and working my proof of concept for my thesis project, which is due tomorrow. I have most of it done, but I’ve been working on it all day, with minor breaks in between, of course. Take this morning, I finished some filming (last minute, I know) and then got distracted by my camera and take pics in the macro mode.

For your enjoyment! Cheers!

Reading week, apartment applications and losing my hair

Ok, I don’t think I’m actually losing my hair, but I feel like the stress of everything will trigger some balding hormone at any moment. Here’s hoping that I’m wrong.

I think things would be much better if I could have my beagle around all the time, but alas, not pets and she lives at my parents house (technically she’s only a quarter mine :P )

I mean look at the face! Stress fears that face! It is repelled by dog fur and belly rubs and jingling collars. Casey’s getting up there, but she still loves a good chase around the house XD

It is reading week, and I fully believe it was created so that I could live in a student house that stayed clean and quiet for a whole week. Ok sure, popular belief might state that reading week is so students can have a little break and catch up on work, but who are we kidding… right? Heh… heh? You know you’ll get the same amount done as you would any other week. Reading week is for people like me who enjoy cleanliness and silence… it’s such a treat. Right now I’m writing this blog, surfing the web and listening to 30’s and 40’ big band. Bliss….

….. minus all of the stress. Stress of the moment right now, finding an apartment.

Well technically we found on, its just collecting all the employment references, getting things signed and filling out information so that you can hand in your application and not miss out on the possible haven waiting for you.

The sad thing is after all this, I don’t even have the $$ for a vacation. Work. Work. Work…. which I don’t mind in the least, I am just to aware of the financial limbo I’ll be in until I can secure a career and pay off my student debt (which isn’t as bad as it could be, so kudos to me for saving and not spending… woot!)

So all you folks out there, cross your fingers, knock on wood and all that jazz for me and hopefully I’ll see less stressful times ahead!

Cheers!
